Origin of the Surface, 2025, mixed media on Tyvek, 152.5 × 278cm (60 × 110in.)

When examined closely, Tyvek—an industrial material—reveals an irregular, tangled internal structure.

This work begins from an impossible, almost fairy-tale-like idea:

to trace the origin of a surface by following its grain.

The origin of anything is deeply subjective, depending on where one chooses to draw the line.

For me, this journey became a way of responding by pressing into a surface that can never fully be reached,

attempting the closest possible contact.
